                    Our Goal and Vision

Sianga Kuyan - Maasai warrior now living in Australia and founder of Future Warriors ProjectABOUT SIANGA KUYAN, project founder

Future Warriors Project Inc. is a registered charity set up in Australia by Sianga Kuyan, perhaps the only Maasai warrior living in Australia.

Sianga is a former leader from a small, remote village called Kiserian in Longido District, Northern Tanzania. Sianga understands first-hand many of the challenges confronting his village and Maasai people. Through his own initiative, Sianga went from being a pastoralist, to homeless night watchman, then a tour guide, and now the President and founder of a charity that supports young Maasai people who find themselves and their families in difficult circumstances.

After becoming a warrior Sianga was forced from his village through drought, which diminished his family's cattle supplies. He left for the city to find a way to support his family. Arriving with little education or skills, he ended up homeless, working in dangerous jobs where his life was put at risk night after night.

Sianga was lucky that with a little bit of help he was able to make a better life for himself and his 25+ brothers and sisters. He knows first-hand what a little bit of help can do, not just for one Maasai, but for their whole family and community.

Today, Sianga wants to give that chance to other young Maasai who face
homelessness, malnutrition and poverty and feel a desire to change their
future for themselves, their families and their communities.

WHAT IS FUTURE WARRIORS PROJECT?

Maasai communities face many challenges

Future Warriors Project is a registered charity.

It is a completely grassroots initiative, built from a first-hand understanding of Maasai communities and the challenges they are confronted with. Our projects have been developed through conversations with Maasai people and an embedded understanding of how Maasai people operate. They are thoughtfully designed, culturally appropriate and provide long-term solutions.
