After a safari game drive in the park, you can spend the night at the Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge. The next day after breakfast, we will drive to the secluded village of Ordukai passing on the way by a beautiful oasis.

ORDUKAI

Ordukai is situated between two great national parks – Manyara and Tarangire, around 120 km from Arusha.

Visiting Ordukai takes only 1 day, but it’s best to extend your trip to 2 days and combine it with visiting Tarangire National Park.

Day 1

After a whole day of safari game drive in the park, you can spend the night at the Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge.

Day 2

The next day after breakfast we will drive to the secluded village of Ordukai passing on the way by a beautiful oasis. In the village you will be greeted by the Maasai people with traditional dances and songs. From here you will go for a forest hike with a Maasai warrior who will help you spot wildlife and also show you different plants and trees that are used for making food and medicine.

There is also an off the beaten track option for the adventurous. You can drive to a traditional fishermen’s village situated on the shore of Lake Manyara. It’s a great place for birdwatching, but also be prepared for experiencing a cultural shock and seeing the everyday struggle of local fishermen.

In the afternoon you will go back to Arusha.
