Combine a day at Lake Manyara National Park with a day being looked after in Loosirwa
Loosirwa is situated around 120 km from Arusha and borders the Lake Manyara National Park. Thatʼs why it is highly recommended to visit the park in the on the 1st day in the morning before going to the village.
Day 1
You arrive at the Loosirwa village, where you are greeted by the Maasai with traditional dances and songs. Itʼs also a great occasion to support the local community and buy some Maasai art and handcrafts. After getting accustomed to traditional life in the village, there are many local lodges to settle for the night. Camping is also possible.
Day 2
You get up early in the morning and you hike through the forest to the top of Losimangori Mountain, from where there is a great view of the surrounding area, including Lake Manyara and Great Rift Valley. During the hike the Maasai guide will help you spot wildlife and also show you different trees and plants that are used for making food and medicine. The slopes of Losimangori are great for birdwatching. In the afternoon you will go back to Arusha.
